Food for the Soul
Golf Tournament

The Food for the Soul Golf Tournament is one of our largest and most exciting annual fundraisers! Putting pros and newbies alike gather to compete for a good cause and enjoy a delicious meal. Thanks to our generous sponsors and all those who register to compete, the Food for the Soul Golf Tournament raises more than $10,000 each year. This money directly funds our mission to provide shelter and food for those in need.

A special thank you to all of our sponsors who support this event every year.

Information about the 2024 Food for the Soul Golf Tournament is listed in our calendar in the month of April.

Pass the Plate

One of our oldest and most crucial fundraising efforts, Pass the Plate dates back to 2011. Through Pass the Plate, Food for the Soul calls on our county’s churches, businesses, community organizations and individuals to “pass the plate” by helping to provide meals, food support, overnight winter sheltering, emergency sheltering and other services for the area’s hungry and homeless population.

We applaud the Kershaw County community for its passion and commitment in supporting Food for the Soul’s core mission: Food for the Soul is a Christ-like ministry providing food and shelter for those in need in Kershaw County.

For more information about how you can “Pass the Plate,” contact us at 803-432-4771.

Sod Sales

Springtime is the official “season of sod” at Food for the Soul. Our annual Sod Sales offer several grass varieties sold in 18” x 24” sections. The Market opens at 8 a.m. and stays busy until we shut down at noon, so come early! Pick up what you need and chat with our friendly staff and volunteers while we load your vehicle.

Hank Kerfoot, owner of Modern Turf, donates all of the sod sold in our Sod Sales, so every purchase directly supports the mission of Food for the Soul. With this generous contribution and support from the Kershaw County community, these Sod Sales bring in as much as $12,000 each year!

No need for sod but still want to support Food for the Soul? Click the “Donate” button above or come by the Sod Sales and drop off your contribution. Thank you for your support!
